In Kurulus Osman Season 4 Episode 126, Osman Gazi, also known as Balak (or Kara in Turkish), was renowned for his courage and bravery, as per Turkmen tradition. He was notable for his tall stature, broad chest, long arms, dark tan complexion and round face – details that were further complemented by his thin beard, thick mustache and ram-like nose. His deep and meticulous voice was matched only by his skills in horseback riding and sword use. Moreover, he had a reputation for being very generous to those less fortunate. He would often provide them with clothes when he saw they were in need. Additionally, Osman Gazi not only solidified the Ottoman Empire through military triumphs but also implemented new laws based on Seljuk traditions and imposed taxes as well as minting the first Ottoman akçe coins.
Osman Ghazi’s campaigns against the Byzantines in the region were fought by his brothers, sons and supporters. He blocked their trade routes and compelled local rulers to capitulate. After suffering illnesses in 1320 Osman’s sons carried on the fight and seized multiple cities from the Byzantine Empire. He passed away at 68 years of age due to gout, laying to rest in Bursa. During his reign, Osman married Mal Khatun with whom he had one son named Orhan Gazi who became Sultan after him. Later Mal Hatton was wedded to Bala Hatton from which union a second son was born called Aladdin who later rose to be Grand Vizier. In total Osman had 8 sons and one daughter.
